We continuously monitor this constantly changing market so that we can offer our customers automobile / watercraft insurance options that are competitively underwritten by solid Mexican insurance companies. Following is an overview of the criteria we use in selecting Mexican insurance companies:

Financial Strength and Stability: A.M. Best & Co. is an internationally recognized company specializing in the analysis and rating of the financial strength of financial institutions.

An A. M. Best & Company rating of “A-” means “Excellent” according to the rating company’s criteria. All companies we represent in Mexico (or the multi-national parent company) must have an A.M. Best & Co. rating of at least “A-”, or “Excellent.

Automobile / Watercraft Claim Service: Our policy administration system issues approximately 100,000 Mexico Tourist Auto insurance policies online per year. Obviously with this volume, some of our clients have an automobile / watercraft insurance claim. This gives us an opportunity to subjectively access the quality of claim service provided by our Mexican insurance companies. All companies pay their insurance claims, except that since late 2005 we have experienced a pattern of questionable service in response time and payment from one Mexican insurance company, ACE Seguros.

Competitiveness: Competitiveness is measured in two dimensions: Quality of Coverage and Price.

Coverage: The online Quote Results screen displays quotes for “Standard Coverage” and for “Extended Coverage”. The Extended Coverage packages are amongst the very best automobile coverage available for tourist vehicles in Mexico. We offer online quotes for car, motorcycle, RV and watercraft coverage, so we offer something for just about everyone.

Standard Coverage is pretty much the same for all Mexican insurance companies. A Standard policy provides less automobile liability coverage and accordingly, has a lower cost.

The Extended Coverage is a package of upgrades offered by four of our Mexican companies (ABA Seguros, GNP, GE Seguros, and ACE Seguros). These upgrade packages vary somewhat from company to company, but all are quite a bit broader than the Standard automobile policy and they are broader than products offered by other companies. Price: We display the online quote results for all Mexican companies on one screen so that you can compare prices of various automobile policies. One of our five Mexican companies is almost always more competitive than Mexican companies we do not represent, and our Mexican companies are all rated “A-” by A. M. Best & Co.
