We offer a special Condo Unit Owner's policy which includes coverage for your personal property in the unit, such as furniture, kitchen equipment, clothing, etc., liability. If you have made structural improvements, such as remodeling the kitchen, you can also include “building” coverage.
Like in the U.S. and Canada, condominium association by-laws should require a master policy to cover common property owned by all members of the association. This includes the primary structure(s) housing the individual condo units as well as other structures on the premises, such as community and recreation centers and swimming pools. The master policy should also include Third Party Liability.
Condominium association master policies vary. For example, master policies include only the structural necessities: Walls, floors, and ceilings. In this case, the policy may not cover things like light fixture, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, wall paper, or other improvements or remodeling paid for by the unit owner. If your association policy does not cover improvements you have paid for, you may wish to insure your investment in them on your individual condo unit owner policy.
If you only need coverage for your personal property we offer a broad and competitive policy that includes theft, replacement cost, hurricane, and earthquake, plus liability.
If you rent your condo unit to others our policy includes rental liability and it can also include loss of rental income for a period of up to 12 months following a covered loss. This coverage is not found in most Mexico policies of this type.
Our policy also provides coverage for third party liability lawsuits brought against you for incidents that occur on your premises. If you rent your home to others, Renter’s Liability is included at no additional cost.
